Global Foundation for First Responders is Holding its 4th Annual Golf Outing

Annual event is major fundraiser for scholarship program for first responders

Garden City, New York (May 8, 2018)—The Global Foundation for First Responders is holding its annual Golf Outing to raise funds and awareness for the fallen first responders and their families. The golf outing takes place on May 21st, at the Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club, Smithtown, N.Y. The day begins at 10am with registration and a delicious breakfast spread served by the club. Golfers can enjoy a relaxing chair massage to loosen up before a day of golf. Board members, participants, and volunteers will all gather for a moment of silence to recognize the sacrifice that has been made by the men and women we have lost in the line of duty. A shotgun tee off at noon, will signal the start of the tournament, “The momentum is building for this great event. The response each year is overwhelming and greatly appreciated. This year all funds are going towards the organizations we have partnered with to distribute monies to further the educational needs for the survivors of the fallen,” explains William McGuire, Executive Director, Global Foundation for First Responders. Golfers will enjoy 18 holes on this beautiful golf course, but the enjoyment isn’t limited to that alone. Returning this year will be Montauk Hard Label Whiskey, and Maccallan with tastings happening out on the golf course. New to the event this year, will be Executive Chef, Chris Lavecchia who is putting together a small plate offering that promises to pair nicely with the Macallan Scotch. This event is never short on high end offerings. McGuire also said “We have been so fortunate to have wonderful and generous partnerships each year, that continue to allow us to host a top notch golf outing. Bryan Davis, Event Chair and Executive Board Member sets the bar higher and higher each year.”

The foundation, started in 2015 has a mission to provide families of first responders, who lost their lives protecting others in the line of duty, with much needed financial relief. The funds raised through the Golf Outing held on May 21st, and Annual Gala, being held in October, are distributed to well established programs that provide services, guidance, and resilience to families that have experienced such a tremendous loss.

The Global Foundation for First Responders raises awareness for the needs of national law enforcement, firefighters’ children’s foundations and other children’s charities so their immediate, and long-term needs, are satisfied. About William McGuire Founder:
William McGuire is a native of Long Island and a former Fireman from Mineola. He started the foundation nearly two years ago after witnessing the ever-increasing needs of families of first responders first hand.
